Typically, a day at the beach is the most relaxing day of the year. That's where people go to unwind and relax and probably the intention of most of the people in these photos. However, that didn't pan out for them. These people went to the beach and made very different memories than they had planned on. From watersports fails to the worst sunburns you've ever seen, these people probably should have stayed on the couch!

No Diving in the Shallow End

Well, this is one way to get back at someone. The boogie board is attached to the guy with yellow shorts, yet it looks as though this other kid was the one actually on the boogie board.

It looks as if the guy in the yellow shorts pulled the board from underneath the other kid. You can definitely see the devious smile of pay back all over his face. Poor kid looks like he took quite the dive.

Mud Bath Anyone?

Did this family get caught in an oil spill? Maybe some tar? They look like they are in full body black suits.

Apparently, there has been a volcano island formed in Russia that mixes with the minerals of the water and shoot up this mud-like texture. Many people, locals, and tourists, come here to bathe in the mud as it is known to help relieve pain from different health problems such as sciatica, arthritis, or muscle pain.

The New Place to Work Remotely

Props to this guy for switching up the scenery from his in-home office to one of more character, fresh air, nature, and some vitamin D. However, the vitamin D looks a bit limited in this picture, but it's still just as strong when it's overcast. I hope he packed sunscreen!!

Looks like he's got all the necessities: cooler, grill, towel, and hopefully his own personal hotspot. His chair doesn't seem very supportive, but hey, at least he seems to be enjoying himself.

Who needs a luxury bonfire when you can make one for free out of sand? The fire should probably be a bit bigger when there are more people, but it's perfect for this lone ranger. Hopefully his friends and family are on their way to join him. I can't imagine this big ol' circle isn't meant for more.

You know you're relaxed when you fall asleep, drink in hand under the sun. Looks like this guy got himself a new tan line. It is quite creative and very original. Whether it was intentional or not we will never know. We love how the hand and arm are even in the outline.

Often times you see people fall asleep under the hot sun and sadly, they forget to reapply sunscreen or put any on at all.

Is that an iPad or a laptop? Are they face-timing or taking a picture? Whichever they are doing, they obviously are just wanting to show off their awesome bathing suits and the fact that they are at the beach enjoying the warm sun.

Carrying a technological device like that over the ocean water does not seem like the best idea though. One slip of the grip and that thing is soiled with water. Hopefully, they have a protective case on it!

Come On In Guys, the Water Feels Great!

This horse is living its best life! He's ready to give some tourists the ride of their lives. Just hop on top and he will ride straight through the sunset where the horizon kisses the ocean water ever so delicately for the viewers' pure enjoyment.

We do not think we have seen a horse happier to get to work and give people the grand tour of the beach. If only he could talk and we could hear his enthusiasm.

Someone's a bit Lost

Well, this is something you do not see every day. Welcome to the island of the cows where you can witness them in an unnatural habitat. Like humans, the cows come here for their yearly vacation to relax and unwind.

Humans and cows alike can come together to admire the beautiful coastlines while sipping margaritas. We are just kidding, but we bet that would provide quite the advertisement for cheese, milk, and meat: "Margarita Fed."

The Waves are Calling

Is this a sign of the infamous Garfield retiring? After 40 years of entertainment through comic strips, toys, video games, other merchandise to movies and tv shows, we are sure he has definitely done his time.

You might think this is a rare sighting, but it was actually the norm back in 1980. Locals would find these Garfield phones washed up on shore in Brittany, France. 30 years this lasted until they discovered an old shipping container in a hard-to-access cave.

What happened here? A tragic, tragic accident is what this is. It just takes one small animal to cross the road and a driver with a heart for their furry friends to swerve out of the way only to cause a huge crash.

Looks like the day would have been great. Who doesn't love boat rides? Too bad it does not look like they'll be making it to the water after all. At least the furry friend lives on.

What a patient dog to have sat in the sand long enough to have its body completely buried. With no care in the world, this dog just allowed its owners to pile on the dirt as they please.

Although he might not particularly thrilled about it, not making eye contact with the camera and all, he's a good boy and will do anything to make his owners happy. We're guessing he made a run for the water after snapping this pic.

Nothing like getting ambushed by a swarm of monkeys. What do you do to fight them off? Feed them bananas, of course! Although, it looks like this lady is trying to teach these hungry monkeys some manners before rewarding them with a treat.

Monkeys are known to want what they want and do whatever they can to get it. However, they seem to be giving the respect this lady is demanding in order to get a banana.

Not sure what the exchange is between these love birds, but it doesn't look good. Poor gal seems quite troubled, sad, or shocked. Could he be second-guessing their big day? It's unclear what the status is of the two individuals. She's wearing a wedding gown and he looks like he's just on vacation. I don't think he's wearing attire fit for a wedding.

Whatever the case may be, whoever took this photo must have witnessed a real-life Bachelor in Paradise episode.

You can never be too careful when it comes to your sandals. Especially ones of such high value as the ones in this picture. They must be one of kind!

Or someone's punk brother decided to get back at their sister by locking her favorite paper of sandals on a bike rack. What a genius way of manipulation. Kid brother can have his sister do whatever he asks in order for him to get the key to unlock her beloved sandals.

Whose kid is this? No, seriously, where are this kid's parents? He's on the float of his life into the abyss of the ocean without any supervision. At least he seems pretty geared up in floating devices, but unless he knows how to swim, they will work against him in his struggle to go against the current. Let's hope his parents are nearby.

His little fohawk and stunna shades are really completing this "I'm in vacation mode" look.

We are jealous of whoever got to witness this interaction. It is definitely a rare siting. At least neither mammal seems to be alarmed or aggressive towards one another. They just look curious about one another and probably developed quite the friendship.

It is always fun to watch dogs interact with other animals to see how they respond and/or communicate with one another. It is an opportunity for their wildlife instincts to kick-in as opposed to their domesticated manners.

Well, this seems inviting. Who wouldn't want to take a swim in such appealing ocean waves? So what if there are crocodiles? It's about time we face them head-on Steve Irwin style. Anyone up for the adrenaline rush?

However, it must be pretty dangerous since the sign is along the coastline. At least the authorities did their best to make it clear it was indeed not safe, but we're sure there will still be a few that swim, despite the warnings.

It is pretty obvious by the pure panic on her face that she is no longer concerned about the pictures. It is hard to tell how this could have happened, but that little guy must have been pretty slippery.

This is quite the picture. The owner of this obviously frightened cat wanted her furry pet to enjoy what she feels is a peaceful walk. Unfortunately, Mr. Jenkins seemed to think otherwise. Maybe it is the cold wind or the utter fear of the water. There are few pets who actually enjoy bath time so it is understandable the look of terror on this kitty's face.

For whatever it is worth, at least the owner was able to capture what will probably be the only time Mr. Jenkins joins her at the beach.

What a precious bundle of joy to find this little guy enjoying the beach. He's embracing the fullness of the ocean and really becoming one with it. Or maybe he's trying to see how long he can hold his breath underwater. His trunk seems like it's completely immersed.

Perhaps his siblings threw some sand in his eyes and he went straight to the water to wash them out. Or as the caption says, he's showing off his versatile capabilities to impersonate other animals.

Take a look at this wet pup! Looks like he is jamming out to his favorite song and strutting his stuff right on the beach. It is not every day you see a dog with some killer dance moves.

However, the fact that his ears are standing straight up is so unnatural. It could have been really windy, but even then it is hard to say that is what caused his ears to fly. He must have actually been galloping towards his owner when this photo was taken.

Is it just us or does this dog look like Robert Dinero on vacation? Whoever dressed this dog up did a classic job. The fact that it is a chihuahua with a sombrero, glasses and a cigar is just priceless.

We hope whoever's feet these are, that they own a large bottle of aloe vera! Just looking at them makes one's feet begin burning. The pain this person is feeling must be absolutely excruciating.

Although you would think with the feet being the only thing exposed, they would lather on some sunscreen to prevent this from happening. Or maybe they were not expecting to expose their feet to the sun since it is apparent he or she was wearing pants.

At first glance, it is easy to miss the Irish girl lying down in the background since she literally blends in with the pale color of the sand. It is known that the Irish have the fairest skin of them all and are predisposed to more skin conditions.

I hope she came well prepared to the beach with SPF 100 sunscreen to prevent her vulnerable skin from being scorched by the hot sun. That'd be one unpleasant souvenir.

Did you know there is a beach in France called Corsica where cows roam around? It is their home and they are not always the most friendly towards the humans who come to visit. Unfortunately, there have been quite a few reports stating the cows actually attacked people before.

Their foot is straight up in the air indicating tumbling at shore level. There must be some serious strength to that wave along with some unstable balance by the skimboarder to create an image like this.

Don't you just hate when this happens? You are all settled on the beach with everything set up. The last thing to do is to set up the beach lounger so you unfold it and stick it in the sand ready to just sit down and relax. However, once you take a seat, the flimsy thing just topples backward!!

Definitely not the ideal way to start a day at the beach. Hopefully, this poor man was able to fix it.

It does not appear whatever she fell off of was in motion. Poor gal was probably just trying to strike her best pose, but due to the many drinks she had beforehand, she ended up falling off mid-picture!

Who knows, maybe she was trying to do an action shot, but the way her body seems to be bracing for the landing, we highly doubt that was the case. Let this be a lesson to all.

Here is another picture gone wrong. Looks like this gal needs to work on her upper arm strength in order to hold herself up. Poor thing tried to push up but was not able to in time to avoid the oncoming waves.

Head over to the Cayman Islands where they have all kinds of sea life as well as stingrays just like in this picture. Look, the stingray is posing with his little smile and everything. Too bad these ladies were not too prepared since complete fear is written all over their faces.

It is a bit difficult to depict what is really happening in this photo. Hopefully, it is nothing serious. It could be she was throwing a little tantrum because she did not want to pull the wagon anymore. She could also just be taking a break and plopped herself on the sand.

First of all, can we all recognize the lighting of this picture totally makes it look like this family is standing in snow? That would be quite the sight to see would it not? Having snow on one side and the ocean on the other. Talk about trippy.

At first glance though, I guess it looks like a very strange waterfall. This would be the epitome of "life on the edge." Not quite sure how a panoramic image can go so wrong, but at least it has the privilege of being in our article! From a bad picture to being seen by hundreds.

Well, this is a bit of a heart breaker. Not sure where the humor is in disowning your own child, but to each their own. The poor child will grow up to see this picture and be absolutely devastated by whoever created it.

This is the perfect depiction of the false reality that lies within social media. People try to portray their lives as flawless when in reality, it's not always the case. It is good to post the fails from time to time to show people your human.
