Beauty Memes That Have Us Laughing All The Way To Sephora
For some, beauty is not something to be taken lightly. Flawless makeup, perfect nails, and enviable hair are what most people aspire to accomplish, but beauty addicts will be the first people to tell you that it's not as easy as a bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. A lot of us spend many hours and too much money in the name of looking fabulous but for us, it's worth it. If you're the same way, then you'll probably feel these memes on a very personal level.
Can't Let This Glam Go To Waste
What's worse than having to get ready for a night out that you hoped would be canceled? Actually getting ready for that night out and then having all those plans canceled.
You just spent all that time putting together a slay-worthy look, but that doesn't mean that it was all in vain. You didn't use all that makeup and spend at least an hour on your hair for nothing, so you're going to make sure people notice.
Thanks, But No Thanks
Look, we know you're just trying to put your best "customer service" face forward, but your assistance isn't really necessary if we already know what I'm looking for. If we really can't find something or we genuinely need your help, then sure, we will ask for it.
But more often than not, you're really just in the way. It's doubtful there's something you can show us that we didn't already learn from YouTube ourselves.
You Better Check Yourself
I'll be the first to admit that I'm no expert when it comes to makeup but if you try to come at me when your own eyebrows are looking a little rough, then best believe I stopped listening to your advice the moment you started speaking.
You should never try to offer unsolicited advice when you know very well that you're probably the one who needs it more. Your eyebrows speak for themselves.
It's All Worth It
By now, everyone knows what it means to "treat yoself." Sometimes we may go a little overboard and spend way more than we intended to but at the end of the day, it's all completely worth it.
Nothing is more rewarding than a really good shopping haul from Sephora or Glossier – especially if you've worked hard for that money. Is it worth having to eat Top Ramen until the next paycheck? Sometimes, yes.
More Fragile Than Your Hopes And Dreams
There are plenty of quality makeup palettes out there but they're not always cheap, which is why accidentally dropping one makes our hearts sink right to the bottom of our stomachs.
You're lucky if you've ever dropped a palette and picked it up to see everything still intact. But if it's cracked it feels like you just threw your money in the trash. There are ways to fix cracked palettes but at that point, things will never be the same.
Manicures Are The Spice Of Life
There are few things in life that make a lady feel more fierce than a fresh manicure. No matter what color, shape, or length she chooses for her nails, the end result is always a feeling of satisfaction.
But our nails can't always be on fleek and during those times we prefer that you don't pay attention to our hands. Just like eyebrows, sometimes your nails can make or break your entire look.
It Ain't Easy Being On Fleek
Eyeliner is fairly simple to apply but all too easy to mess up. Many of us have spent way too much time trying to fix the eyeliner on one eye only to realize that it now looks longer or thicker than the other eye. Even though the first eye was perfect when you started, now you have to make it match the other.
The cycle keeps repeating itself until we eventually give up, wash our entire face, and start all over again.
Look With Your Eyes, Not Your Hands
If you see a girl with a full face of makeup, chances are she just spent two hours or more blending, baking, and highlighting to perfection. She may want her boyfriend to notice, but the last thing she wants is for him to ruin all her hard work by trying to be cute and kissing her on the forehead.
Not today, buddy. Compliments and admiring glances are always accepted though.
I'll Give You Something Else To Look At
There are many people out there doing the most to cover their dark circles. But sometimes all the foundation, concealer, and baking isn't enough. Some girls will go through all that effort and still be upset because all they think they can see are their dark circles.
If you're one of those people, then know that you're probably the only one who can see them. If anything, you should just embrace your natural beauty – or give people something else to concentrate on.
It's Always The Hardest Part
A lot of us ladies like to get ready in full comfort mode, which means that we often do our hair and makeup in sweats. After all, becoming more beautiful than we already are takes time.
But when our faces are finally beat to perfection and our hair is perfectly blown out, getting dressed requires Olympic-level precision and concentration. We didn't want to get any makeup on our outfits in the first place, so why mess up after the fact?
A Girl Who Can Bake
When a girl says she's busy "baking," she's either 1) baking a delicious batch of chocolate chip cookies or 2) baking her face and really, it could really go either way.
If she always looks like a queen when she steps outside the house, then she is likely the latter half of that group. But who knows? She could be a multi-tasker who bakes cookies while her face bakes. Find someone who can do both.
Applicable To Real Life
We couldn't care less about the Pythagorean Theorem or other math-related nonsense when we were actually forced to learn about it. But boy were we seriously misinformed about how it would practically help us later in life.
Turns out, getting our eyebrow arches just right requires just as much concentration that we should have applied while learning these lessons. Thank goodness for the women in the threading and microblading businesses, who pretty much do all that math for us.
Should I Say Something?
Have you ever talked to someone and realized you didn't hear a word they said because you've been distracted by how they did their face? You end up nodding along and letting them keep talking because honestly, you were only paying attention to how one of their eyeliner wings is bigger than the other or how their face isn't blended into their neck.
The real question at that point is if we should say something or nothing at all...
When The Gloss Isn't Poppin'
Honestly, how can girls stand wearing lip gloss? I get that it makes one's lips look luscious and what not but it seems more like a nuisance if anything.
Unlike lipstick, lip gloss will stick to anything and everything if you let it. It's all over when your hair gets involved because it will stick to your lips and then smear the lip gloss all over your face if you're not careful.
When Your Ponytail Fails
What is it about celebrity hair that makes all their ponytails look effortless, yet flawless? Oh, that's right, they have top-notch hairstylists to get things right for them. If you're really talented with hair then you could probably emulate the perfect Ariana Grande ponytail.
But if you're like most of us, somehow our hair suddenly looks thin, awkward, and not at all like we came to slay. The most we could hope for is a bump-less ponytail.
Occupational Hazards
If you've ever been a little too forthright with your mascara and ended up poking yourself in the eye, you're not alone. If you're like me, then you've probably also had your liquid eyeliner leak into your eye.
It's true that artists suffer when it comes to their art and we are all the Van Gogh's of our own faces. We wouldn't cut our own ears off for it, but makeup definitely comes with its occupational hazards.
This Isn't Working Out
Instagram's beauty gurus and YouTube's makeup artists make everything look so easy, but then again, they're already accustomed to what they're doing. It all seems effortless until you actually try to do the look on yourself.
You sit there following the tutorial step by step, only to finish the look and realized you just sat there for 20 minutes wasting your time. Whenever this happens to me, I just blame it on poor instruction.
The Night's Not Over Yet
So you just had a fabulous night out where you not only felt good, but you looked good too – and not a drop of makeup was out of place.
After all that fun, you come home and head straight to bed only to realize your makeup is still on. If you're like me, you'll lay there for a good 20 minutes deciding if you want your skin to die overnight before you get up to take it all off.
Could You Please Be More Relatable?
I love watching YouTube makeup artists just as much as the next gal but when it comes to following their tutorials exactly, it's almost impossible. I get that they're often sent expensive products for free but how does that make me want to go out and buy them? Send it to me for free too!
And I know you don't have to use the same exact products, but trying to find the right dupes is an effort in itself.
We're All In This Together
We're all on the same planet here, living our own respective lives. So what's the use in comparing ourselves to others? People point out others' flaws to mask their own insecurities, which only goes to show that they don't feel good enough in some regard.
That's no way to go about life. We may not all possess the same level of beauty skill, but that doesn't mean we are any less beautiful or worth it than the next person.
